To Splurge or NOT to splurge? THAT is the question.

Jury, I present to you the plaintiff: MICHAEL KORS SIGNATURE EAST/WEST TOTE

In this case, my wallet is the defendant! 

This is my situation. I've been buying and selling designer handbags since I was 17 years old. 

I'm now 23, and I'm looking to make wiser decisions when it comes to "investing" in expensive items. 

I'm looking at the MK brand itself. Is this brand going to last?

I see what's happening to Coach now. Last year, Coach bags that were worth at least $250 are now being sold for less than $100 on ebay. Their quality is still amazing, but the brand worth has gone down. In my opinion, Coach seems slightly boring and predictable. 

Michael Kors bags give you that vibrant, glamorous feeling.

Conclusion: 

I'm just going to blatantly say what we're all thinking... 

WTF? What is going on with Coach's designs? 

The past two years have been a little weird for Coach. 

When your factory outlets are making more revenue than your retail stores, that MUST tell you something?! NO ONE wants to pay regular prices for COACH merchandise.

On the other hand, the Michael Kors Signature Tote that I want has been sold out consecutively in countless stores in the United States. 

Michael Kors is something new and exciting. This designer makes women of all ages feel like a celebrity. Whether you're 20 years old or 40, the MK Hamilton bag is functional for so many aspects of life. School, work, dinners out, interviews, shopping.

So this brings me back to my original question. Is it okay to splurge on the Michael Kors Tote?
Compared to the Louis Vuitton bag that MK mimics, the $226 price tag seems too enticing! 

 

Obviously the quality is not the same as Louis Vuitton, but the MK tote does everything that a bag is supposed to do. I've read a lot of reviews that say the bag almost never gets dirty, you can wipe the interior with a cloth, there are many pockets inside for organization, and it's stylish.

Chanel Flap Bag

I've considered saving up for a new handbag for quite some time. 

From Louis Vuitton to Prada, Gucci, and now finally Chanel... 

I'm definitely looking for a piece that will outlive both you and I! 

The price difference between a Chanel Flap Bag vs. Louis Vuitton items is quite steep. 

What I'm doing is slowly selling all of my older bags that I no longer use, 

and putting the money towards one sort of "Holy Grail" bag.

These prices are bananas! - to say the LEAST. 

I completely understand why these bags are so expensive though. 

I'm assuming this item would be considered as one of those magical "dream" pieces a girl wishes to have in her wardrobe. Would I need to save for an eternity? I suppose it'd be slightly peculiar to carry a $4000 bag around - Especially when your purse's worth is more than some people's cars!

Have you heard of IPSY?

To start off, I'm in TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA.

The majority of "GLAM BAG" websites who offer mystery products from top brands in a monthly shipment do not have memberships for Canada. 

Perhaps these companies are taking their sweet time to ship to us  because the demand in the U.S. is so high. 

So kudos to Michelle Phan!

Michelle Phan's company IPSY has finally made memberships for Canadians! 

I stumbled upon this site by accident - I forgot I had signed up a year ago only to discover they didn't ship to me, but it's so great she made this option available in time for Christmas too. One thing I found a little odd was the new company name.

Previously, IPSY was called MYGLAM. 
In my opinion, the new name sounds like a term for an undiscovered disease or something.

But I signed up without hesitation. It was an easy form to fill out as well.

(I'm the type of person who makes high-end purchases and invests in quality products btw).

• It would be a very good idea to purchase a membership for your daughter, friend, or relative. The value is amazing.
  
  
•  In terms of savings, if you're an avid Sephora or M.A.C. Cosmetics shopper, then you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
